There are many temples dedicated to Lord Krishna all over India and one of these temples is the Dwarkadhish Temple. Which is located in the city of Dwarka on the banks of the Gomti River. This temple located in the city of Dwarka is one of the four Dhams. It is also known as Jagat Mandir.
According to the belief, the temple was first built at this place by Varjanad, the great grandson of Lord Krishna and the place where this temple is built was the residence of Lord Krishna. There are two gates to enter this temple, one is the main gate which is towards the north and the other is Swargdwar which is towards the south.
If you look at the idol installed in this temple, its eyes appear incomplete and there is a popular story behind this too. It was in the 15th century when there was an atmosphere of war everywhere, then to protect this idol, the Pandits hid it in a well named Savitri. A few years after this incident, Lord Krishna came in the dream of a Brahmin and gave a vision that he should take out that idol from the garbage after a specific time. Hearing this from Lord Krishna, the Brahmin could not resist and without waiting for the right time, he took out that idol. But the eyes of that idol were incomplete and this same idol is installed in the Dwarkadhish temple today. The chandelier fluttering on the temple is changed five times a day. Moon and Sun are made on that flag. Moon and Sun signify that as long as Moon and Sun exist, Lord Krishna will reside there. About two kilometers away from this temple is the temple of his wife Rukmini.
There is a popular story behind the existence of separate temples of Lord Krishna and Rukmini. Let's listen to this story.
There are many things related to this temple like after hearing the praise of Lord Krishna everywhere, Rukmini had decided to marry him in her mind. And she wrote a letter with seven verses to Lord Krishna expressing her feelings. This letter is read in front of Rukmini Devi every day. The most important festival celebrated in Dwarkadhish temple is Janmashtami. Apart from this, the marriage of Lord Krishna and Rukmini is also celebrated here as a big festival. During which devotees visit this temple and get the darshan of Dwarkadhish.

Once upon a time Lord Krishna and his wife Rukmini went to meet Sage Durva. Rukmini invited them to her palace. The Russian ambassador accepted the invitation on one condition that the chariot in which they would come to the palace would be pulled by Lord Krishna and Rukmini. Sage Rukmini accepted this condition without any hesitation. The men set out for the palace with Lord Krishna and Rukmini. As per the condition, Lord Krishna and Rukmini started pulling the chariot in which the famous Durva grass was sitting. After coming some distance, Rukmini got tired of pulling the chariot and felt very thirsty. Lord Krishna understood this and then he made a hole in the ground with his toe from which the water of Maa Ganga came out and Rukmini quenched her thirst with that water. But Sage Durvasa did not like the fact that Rukmini did not request him before drinking the water herself. And because of her misbehavior, he cursed Rukmini that she and Shri Krishna will be separated. And that is why Rukmini's temple is at some distance from Lord Shri Krishna's temple.
