The Prime Minister wrote, 'For the continued development and welfare of the people, we are launching the PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme. Rupee. The project, with an investment of over Rs 75,000 crore, aims to light 1 crore homes by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month.'

Step 1
First of all you have to go to https://pmsuryagarh.gov.in/ portal. Registration will have to be done here. For this you have to select your state and electricity distribution company. After this, information about electricity customer number, mobile number and email will have to be given.
Step 2
After this login with customer number and mobile number. After logging in, you have to apply through the rooftop solar form.
Step 3
Await feasibility approval from Discom. If you get the feasibility approved, you can install the plant from any registered vendor in your Discom.
Step 4
After installation is complete, submit plant details and apply for net meter.
Step 5
Commissioning Certificate will be generated from the portal after installation of the net meter and verification by the Discom.
Step 6
After receiving the commissioning report, submit the bank account details and canceled check through the portal. After this, your subsidy will come to your bank account within 30 days.

Subsidy is also available on this. You will get all its information on https://pmsuryagarh.gov.in/. According to the information given in it, if you want to install 2kW rooftop solar at home then the total cost will be Rs 47,000. On which the government will give a subsidy of Rs 18,000. In this way, for installing rooftop solar, the customer will have to pay Rs 29,000.
