Jiomotive: Make your old car a smart car!

Reliance Jio has launched a car driver handy device for in India, named JioMotive. This device claims to transform an ordinary car into a smart car, as it has many advanced features, which take care of the safety as well as the entertainment of the car owner.

JioMotive is a plug-and-play OBD device, used for on-board diagnostics. The device provides real-time information about the car's performance and other things. It also has a GPS tracker.

How does the JioMotive app work?

JioMotive connects to your mobile device through the app. After this, the car owner many important information can get about his car on his smartphone. This is real-time information, such as the health of the car or its behavior. Simply put, this device can detect any internal fault present in the car. If there is a technical fault in the car, you don't need to open the entire parts of the car, rather you can see on your mobile phone which part of the car is faulty.

Not only this, you can also create geo fencing for your car on the app. If the car goes out of bounds defined on the map, you will receive an alert on the mobile device. It also shows the real-time speed of the car. If the car exceeds a certain speed, an alert sends the device.

How to use JioMotive?

JioMotive is a plug-and-play device that requires no expertise to use. You can install and use it by following the steps below.

First of all, download JioThings app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Now tap on “+” inside the app and select JioMotive.

Enter the IMEI number on the Jiomotive box or above the device and tap on "Continue".

Enter your car details like registration number, car name (name of your choice), model name, fuel type, year of manufacture etc. After this tap on "Save".

Plug the JioMotive device into OBD port your car. After this, start the car and keep it running until the next steps are completed.

After this, tick 'Agree' with the Jio EverywhereConnect number sharing plan terms and conditions on your mobile app and tap on "Enable".

Tap on "Jio JCR 1440" and then tap "Continue".

Now you will get confirmation message on screen for activation request by Jio.

Let your car run for 10 minutes to activate the device. Your data will start syncing with JioThings app in about 1 hour.

Let us tell you that JioMotive is equipped with an e-SIM, which shares data with the user's existing mobile data plan, eliminating the need for a separate SIM card or data plan.
