The story of the complete Mahabharata "Mahabharat" is a unique religious, mythological, historical and philosophical treatise of India. It is one of the major scriptures of Hinduism. It is the longest literary book in the world, though it is considered one of the most unique works of literature, but even today it is an exemplary source for every Indian.
Mahabharata is an Indian Hindi-language epic television series based on the ancient Sanskrit epic of the same name. The original telecast consisted of a total of 94 episodes and was broadcast from 2 October 1988 to 24 June 1990 on Doordarshan. It was produced by B. R. Chopra and directed by his son Ravi Chopra. Music was given by Raj Kamal. The screenplay was written by Pandit Narendra Sharma and Hindi/Urdu poet Rahi Masoom Raza, based on an original story by Vyas. The costumes for the series were provided by Maganlal Dresswala.

Each episode is 40–46 minutes long and begins with a title song consisting of lyrical content and two verses from the Bhagavad Gita. The title track was sung and the verses sung by singer Mahendra Kapoor. The title track is followed by a narration by Indian voice-artist Harish Bhimani as an avatar of time, detailing the current circumstances and highlighting the spiritual significance of the episode's content. It is the most successful Mahabharata series ever made for television.
Mahabharata Katha, another part of the serial was aired in 1997, covering Karna's marriage with Padmavati, Arjuna's marriage with Chitrangada and Ulupi, and the plot of Ghatotkacha, Barbarika, Veerashketu, Babruvahana, Viprachitta, Ashwamedha Yagya and so on. All the untold stories of of war, which are not included in the original series.
