Before discussing E-Challan Status it is necessary to understand what is
E-Challan? Challan can be a payment that the citizens of the country are
required to pay for breaking any traffic rule as per the rules issued by the
traffic department.
Till now this payment has to be done by citizens at specific places but as
technology has advanced, Government of India has launched a Web Challan
Payment portal referred as "E-Challan - Digital Traffic / Transport
Enforcement Solution".

What is E-Challan?
E-Challan can be a modern programming application consisting of Android-based
portable application and web interface. E-Challan is a radical account
presented to be offered to Transport Enforcement Officers and Traffic
Policemen. This application is included with Vahan and Sarathi applications.
It offers a plethora of features covering every single important utility of a
traffic enforcement system. E-Challan was inaugurated a few days back to
present the challan to the people on the official app of the government. It
can not only save the cost of paper but also provide a wider scope to the
method.
Purpose of E-Challan
Government of India wants to make the payment of Challan process easier and
less hectic for the citizens of the country. Till now the citizens of India
who have to pay the challan have to go to the concerned office and wait
outside the office for a long time to deposit the fine. As soon as this
E-Challan system will start, the process of depositing this fine will be
easier for the payers.
E-Challan Benefits
Efficient use of search to deliver a simple, productive and far-reaching
traffic authorization framework.
This will guarantee information sharing across the country and all lead to
more efficient traffic regulation and road safety.
The framework intends to be an ideal answer to the current difficulties that
the vehicle divisions are witnessing such as issuing traffic challans,
monitoring records/back-end functions, tracking crime history, instalments,
reports etc.
Providing continuous road safety usage reports to Ministries/State Governments
for information-driven strategy making.
